Adjustment Status

I was hoping to get some help on my husband's struggle to adjust his status from Temp. to Perm. We started this process 5 years ago and have provided all of the documents requested, completed his bio-metrics etc... Our last contact was with the Albuquerque NM office of Homeland Security, who instructed him to provide a birth certificate, GED records, and High School Transcripts. We sent all of this information in within 24 hours via Fedex. The package was signed for by a B. Lucero, but we have yet to recieve anything in the mail. This was sent in and signed for 08/24/2007, almost 1 year ago. My question is, should we contact an attorney to speed things up or does this matter?

You may wanna go the USCIS website and set up an INFOPASS appointment.
I am thinking they forgot about you, but am sure they will take care of you.
