i have rec'd my 485 approval , green card rec'd. but i was overseas during the approval . i am back to USA this week on AP. now the status of my 485 changed to document mailed to applicant.. what does it means ???

It means what it says. The actual card was mailed to you.

approval notice and permanent resident card was mailed earlier and i have it with me. now the status has changed "document mailed to applicant" after entered the country on AP. there should not be any document i should be receive at this point right ?Comment

Yes, nothing more for you. You should not have entered on AP after the GC was approved. Call USCIS and ask what was mailed.

Was your GC approved when your PD was current? There were instances where people have been asked to surrender the GC back due to erroneous approvals by USCIS. Hope it is not that!
