VSC I485 Case Status Check???

How to check my case status at the Vermont Service Center ( 802 527 4913).
I have my A# can I use this number or do I need a EAC number.
Where can I find the EAC number is it on the EAD card or AP forms?
Or
do I have to call my lawyer to get my EAC number for the 485 application.

An explanation of this issue from the gurus would be appreciated.

EAC number for EAD application is on EAD notice of action.
EAC number for I-485 application is on I-485 notice of action.
EAC number for AP application is on AP notice of action.

So, you decide what you need to track and get proper EAC number.
