  • tax returns and pay stubs problem

I have been leaving and working in Georgia in client project since July, 2007. But my parent company ( H1B company ) is in Boston, Massachusetts.

I am paying Tax for MA and there is Boston, MA address in my pay stubs.
I filed my 2007 tax for Massachusetts.

In the G-325A Form and all other place I am going to mention that I have been living in Georgia since July, 2007.

This means that I am leaving in Georgia but I am paying tax for Massachusetts.

So my question is, will it create any problem when I file for i-140 and i-485?

Attorney wants my last 4 pay stubs and tax return for 2007 to file I-485

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
You live in a city, not "leave".

You have been illegally avoiding paying GA taxes all these years. If you want to do it the legal way, file for amendment of the previous years' tax and pay to the state of Georgia.

You pay taxes to the state where you establish your residency.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Does residancy will be established at the last address in G-325? I have my permanent address in Texas and filed I485 in Aug 2007 with last address in CA. I haven't put the permanent adress anywhere in G-135. Please suggest what best can be done?

There are criteria for establishing residency for tax purposes. Look for them. Just mentioning it on some form does not establish residency.
