Hi all,
I got the marriage-based I-485 interview last week. The interview was good. My wife and I answered well and the interviewer seemed to be satisfied. She even said everything looked good to her. But she did not approve my case on the spot. Her reason is that she found 2 names of mine on the system or something so she was waiting for more info from the immigration office. She asked me to wait for 2 weeks to a month for the decision mail. She also wrote something on my my visa that i cannot read.
The strange thing is that she kept guiding me what I had to do after receiving the green card like applying for a social security no. . but in fact my case was pending. Does anyone have the same result as I did? Did she just say it as her job demand or was it a good sign for me?
moreover, this week I received a letter saying that I got approved for I-130. The letter's notice date matches my interview date?!? The letter also asked me to apply for I-485 but I applied it and even had the interview of I-485 already. I guess the letter was sent automatically so it was not categorized correctly. am I correct? but I still wanna know what's going on here. Again, does anyone get stuck like I do?
Please help me out. I am very confused now.
