What is the form 1099?

in form I-864 affidavits of support they require tax refunds + W-2's and 1099's what is the 1099's? and do I absolutely need that? because my sponsor does not know what that form is and he doesnt have it with his tax refunds.

Ha! Actually, ha! ha!

You need only W2. 1099 is required only if you have it. That's for additional incomes like dividend, interest or private company work.
