I130 Approved can I apply for I485 while waiting for immigrant number
Applied for I 130 Sept 2002 when i was 17years old and living in the country through my mom who had become a permanent resident
Approved April 2006 when i was 21
Because i was over 21 when approved I was placed under the 2B category
Current Priority Date Feb 2000
I just graduated college and my drivers license has expired. I do not have any other Visa and because my I-130 was approved i can no longer use it to get my license.
It is estimated to be over 18 months more before my priority date becomes current. And since i cant work im concentrating on my masters. But i need my drivers license for school and life in general.
Can i file for my I485 even though i dont have my immigration number yet. I understand it wont be approved, but could it at least buy me some time and a possible work permit for a little while to get some internship experience? Or will it not even go into processing and be denied right away and be back where i started and $1000 poorer?
I'm desperate and need some advise.
