Hi everyone! My friend got here in US last june,08 and got married last augt. after she got married she applied for SSN . She's workin now without EAD because it still on proccess . Is she legal to work without Employment authorization and will it affects on her AOS application?


From what i knw ur not legal to work here in US even u married to US citizen until they give u permission or EAD card.You can apply for SSN early right after u got married for other purposes.

So she got a ssn???Usually she can't work without EAD or SSN that's illegal!!!And to me sounds a little confiusing.Never I heard that you can apply for SSN without aproved EAD.
When she applied for AOS and EAD?

they got married august then after that she applied for SSN as far as i know u can only apply for SSN for other purposes and u cant apply for SSN to use to apply for work until u have ur EAD to show them that ur authorized to work. Got married August applied for AOS last December,2008 so now shes workin without EAD just SSN. I wonder how she got SSN without EAD. I hope it wont affects to her AOS aplication.

Work without EAD is ILLEGAL. You can get a SSN for status like L2 without EAD but to work, you need EAD, period!
