Can i work while I-485 is pending?

Hi!

I have applied for I-485 adjustment of status. I recently did my Biometrics.
I was selected for the green card lottery and im already in the US on a H4 visa valid until feb 2011.
I just head that you can file a I-765- application for employment authorization. Can i actually do that? I dont work now, because im not allowed to on my H4 visa. But i sure would need to work! My husband is supporting me right now.
So, is this true? Can i get work authorization?

You can apply for EAD and work after that gets approved.

Yes you can just fill out the I-765 which I think is the simplest application they have.
