L1-A to GC

hi all,

In the middle of this process and have a few questions I am hoping someone can help me with. I am currently on an L1A (for approx 5 years I have been either L1A or L1B). My lawyers applied for my GC on Oct 31 2008. Filed I140 and I485 together.

So far, I have been to my biometrics appointment on Jan 8, and have received my EAD card.

Questions are:

1. EAD card - what (if anything) does this do? I was already approved to work for my current employer (L1A sponsor, and GC sponsor)

2. Timelines - I know that these are available online and currently show July 2007 for 485 in Nebraska center. Are people currently seeing this process take 18 months?

1. EAD is part of the process. In your case you won't need it.
