What happens if I loose H4 status and have no 485 ?

What happens to my wife's H4 status if I use my EAD and she has not yet filed 485 since my PD is not current ?

I understand she looses the H4 status, but can she remain in the US and request AP if needed to travel ?

How is she going to request anything? being out of status...

You can not use EAD until you can file an I-485 for your wife... once it has been received and you have a receipt in your hand...

Otherwise she will be out of status and not even an i-485 will help her.
