Question to PraetorinXI or senior members!!!

hi,

First I'd like to thank you for your help thru the last months!
Second....I got my EAD in Nov.2008 with a wrong birthdate and it was my fold
because made a mistake on my computer.
Ok,I sent a new application right away with a fee of 340 dollar bcause was my fold,and I have to pay again this fee.
On dec.18th I got a NOS for EAD that the next step would be Biometrics (AGAIN),but never I got a appointment letter til .... Jan.29th there I had my Interview and got approved and GC production is ordered.
Now my question is ....Could I get a refund for 340 Dollar I payed?
I don't need the EAD anymore ,and they did nothing just NOS.

If I were you, I wouldnt worry about the refund. I havent heard anyone get a refund from USCIS.

I m not worry about, but I think why in the world I should pay 340 Dollar for nothing?
I am going to send a mail to USCIS, because the only thing they did is they send me an AOS letter ,and intermediat I got my GC .
I just thought maybe is someone here with same experience.

Hi,
In the first place I don't understand why you had to pay the fee at all. Because ti should be clear to you that when filing for EAD with your I-485 you don't pay the fee. You pay $1010 for I-486 and $350 for I-130! Filing I-765 conucrrently with I-485 or after it is free!
I might be missing something but the way I see things you shouldn't have paid in the first place! That is why I always recommend consulting an attorney! One conslultation costs $100 and it can save you much more money and worries!
But now what I would try to do is get an infopass appointment (don't count on emails to USCIS!) and try to straighten things out.
USCIS don't do refunds! Just like lawyers and doctors! Sorry!
But you got your green card! Be happy!!

I applied in Sept.2008 for I-485,I-130,I-131 and I-765
Got NOS and Biometric appiontment was Sep.26 \2008.
I got my EAD card in Nov.2008 with wrong Birthdate on it.I figured out that it was my fold.I filled all forms on my computer and made one mistake on I-765.I dont know how that happens,because all my other forms were right.
Anyway,I called USCIS.They told me to send the EAD card back with a new application I-765 and a fee of 340 Dollar because it was my fold.(If USCIS make a mistakes... then you dont have to pay this fee again.)I sent a new form with 340 dollar check and got a NOS that the next step would be the biometrics,that's it,nothing else.I sent a mail yesterday and I'll see, and maybe I get the money back.If not it's ok to me ,but I tried smile
So ,I am very happy got my GC(within 5 months) without lawyer!

I agree with the other member. Just be happy that you got your GC and enjoy the freedom and other opportunities that come with it.
A quick question. My biometrics was done in November 2008 but still no signs of EAD or AP ? Was your category EB-2 or EB-3?

My GC process based on mirrage to a USC.
I am from Germany and never didn't work in USA.
I applied Sep.2009 I/485 ,I\765 and all other requiered Forms.
Biomethrics Sep.2009
I received my EAD in Nov.2008(wrong Birthdate)sent it back and
applied again in Nov.2008 got NOS in Dec.2008 with the notice that the next step would be Biomethrics(again ), but didnt get anything else until Interview and approval.
