AOS interview
I had AOS interview in L.A yesterday the IO didnt ask many questions however he said you will receive my decision in a week. then he put stamp on my K3 visa "canceled without prejudice" and took my I94 form. Does any one know what does this mean???

Blessing in disguise
Canceling H1B means you have been revoked your dual status and have been restricted to use just 1 status, that being AOS Pending. This is not a practice the IO should do as per my knowledge and this can be contested. However, do keep your EAD/AP active to maintain your current status, if you have to travel outside US.
Also, do let me know the following:
1) was your IO chinese?
2) did he mention why he did that and what status are you on now after he cancelled your H1
3) Is your priority date current? if not, did the IO mention when you would receive a response or approval?
All this could also mean you are about to receive your GC, if your case is clear and priority date is current, it is a blessing in disguise, but a restriction for no reason otherwise.
