  • Green Card Processing Times

    Hi Everybody,

I have question about green card processing. My priority date - May 2006 , I-140 Approved in August 2007, I485 Applied on August as a Pending I-140 under EB-3, and all my Application already has been approved beside I-485, I-485 is in pending status, my question is when INS will review my I-485 to make final decision, some people says check with visa bulletin, it need to be current as you priority date. and some says check with processing date, i checked processing dates, all are updated very well today. my case was applied in Nebraska Service Center, it shows Employment-based adjustment applications -4 Months, what is this mean, please clearly answer my question. where should I look to get some idea. Please suggest me.
    Thanks
    Kanak

I am very confused as well!!

USCIS received my i-485 application on Sep. 2007. After they received it (or maybe even during), the priority date changed from 'C' to May 2005. Do I need to wait for my priority date to become current again, or do I need to follow USCIS (Nebraska) processing times since they already received my application?

        Processing Times

As per USCIS advisory regarding processing times, "When applications and petitions are completed within our target timeframes, those timeframes will be shown (e.g. 3 months). If we are not meeting our target timeframes, a date will be shown (example: April 16, 2008). The processing dates shown represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center."

So if your service center shows 4 months, that means they are able to complete the certain Application or Petition within 4 months. But these processing dates may change so you may want to check the processing time each month to keep track.
