  • Marriage Based Green Card and I-94 card

Please advice me in this issue; I have entered US legally twice. The second time was in Sep.2008. I got married on Jan.2009 and filed applications for adjustment of status, work permit together. My question is:

My second I-94 card will expired on March 16,2009 and I sent all documents to USCIS on Feb.24.2009. Do I have to leave U.S. before my I-94 card expired in case I didn't get any response from USCIS? If so, I didn't send I-131 the travel document, so can I file it then travel or what? I asked one friend who had similar experience. He said I don't have to leave or make an extension of my I-94 card as I already applying for adjustment of status. Is that right?

Please give me any advice or direct me to the right person please, I am scared if that could affect either my non immigrant visa (B1) or my future entry to US, or if that won't allow me to apply for green card in the future?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon

Ur friend is right. since u already filled the applications, u dont have to leave even if the I-94 will expire. U cant leave if ur applications are pending.
