  • Should I be worried if I havent heard from USCIS?

    Good day to all!
I filed I-485 based on marriage, had biometrics and received a notice to appear for the initial AOS interview. Thats great but I had also filed for advanced parole concurrently and although I did receive a receipt notice I havent received any correspondence about the AP document since then and I'm wondering if advance parole is only granted after I-485 is approved.
I guess Im just worried because my husband and I are expecting a baby in july and want to travel to my homeland for the grandparents to see their first grandchild. Also, after the biometrics I still havent received any correspondence from USCIS about my concurrently filed I-765 (EAD). Is the EAD usually granted after I-485 has been approved? Or should I have heard from USCIS about the EAD separately?

Thanks to anyone who can add some light to this situation.

    Much appreciated,
    P

How long has it been since the AP filing? EAD/AP take 60-90 days.

Hi, I filed March 13th. Which was 41 days ago so I guess that means that I'm still ok by your timeline.
I was also wondering if I was correct in filing for AP since My interview is scheduled for June 15th and I plan to fly in december. If my I-485 is approved in June will I still need AP to travel in december?
      Does anyone know?

Thanks so much for your earlier response.

You can still use AP in Dec as it is valid for 1 year from the date of approval.

Once 485 is approved, AP/EAD are useless and should not be used.
