864 for FRIEND co-sponsor???

I am struggling to fill out the Affidavit of Support. My friend is co-sponsoring the immigrant (my wife) with me.

What is the form the Co-Sponsor fills out? Is it the I-864A? Or is it another form? Because I looked at the I-864A and there are only check boxes for household members and other dependents.

I sincerely appreciate any help or guidance you can provide for me and my wife.

I am a US citizen that is in the process of the fiance visa. I was deemed not financially able to sponsor my fiance, so my mother and father will co-sponsor my fiance. Do I need to file the I-864 and then have each of my parents file a separate I-864A? Also, my fiance has a son that will be coming as well. Do my parents have to take 1 each on their form as a sponsor, or do the put both immigrants down as those that are being sponsored.

Please start a new thread as this thread is 10 years old.

Fiance visa is K1, and you do not use I-864 for the K1 visa itself. You need to submit I-134 for K1, and a "co-sponsor" would also submit an I-134. It's only after marriage in the US and doing the Adjustment of Status would I-864 be needed.
