  • Biometrics (Second Time)

I had filed my I-485 in July 2007. Mine is a employment based (EB3) application. My priority date is Dec 2003. I and my wife did our fingerprinting sometime in Sept 2007. Now again I have got a letter from USCIS to do my Biometrics (only me). What does that mean?

    (i) Is my I-485 being processed now?
(ii) Is still there a possibility of getting a RFE?
(iii) Can I expect an interview appointment soon even though visa numbers are not available?

    Thanks

In many cases, USCIS needs a second or third biometric due to delay in processing just to ensure there was no other crime committed in those two years. If you give one now and PD remains unavailable for 2 years, you may be called for another one.

        Thanks txh1b,

so does it means they are working on the case? and will be pending for another 2 years, even they ask for 2nd biometric.

        Thanks

Yes, they could work on a case, pre-adjudicated it, put it in the "waiting for visa number" queue and relax.

I had my biometrics done for the second time recently. However, my wife (dependent) has not received anything yet. Her first appointment was in Jan'08. Is this normal? i.e., only the primary being asked for the biometrics and not the dependents?

            Thanks
