  • 5 months After the first interview...waiting for second interview

I had an first interview Jan-22-09 based on marrrige in orlando, fl.

As far as interview, it went smooth but the interviewer did not say anything at the end of the interview.

She just said that the background check was not compleate and the deceision would be mailed in 30 days.

I ve had waited more than 90days and call the uscis and they said that my case is out of processing time frame more than 90 days and they could do the service request to the local uscis office which is orlando office. On the same day of calling USCIS, the orlando local office sent me email stating that my case is still pending and told me to wait another six months from the date of the email. Addition to that they mentioned that I would be require to appear for an second interview.

I am very frustrated for not knowing why I need to appear for an second interview ...or how long i have to wait before the second interview.

Its been almost 5 months since the first interview.

Please expertise this if anyone had similar situation...

    Any idea will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    second interview will come soon

Your second interview will come soon.
It was two years ago that my husband and I had 1st interview in mid June and had 2nd interivew in mid Oct.
It looks like after 2007 the number of application increased a lot and processing time has been delayed (depending on each case, of course... I have read a posting stating everything finished within 3 months in 2009... Someone is lucky).
Make sure to read this folum's page stating things to prove bona fide marriage and BE PREPARED for officer's questions.
YOUR ANSWERS have to match exactly as your spouses'.
If you strike three out of about 80 or more questions you are out.
    BE PREPARED. Practice Q&A.
Officers may be very unpleasant on purpose (or naturally) in order to put pressure on you. They LIE (my officer told me things stating my husband said but after the interview he told me he never said those things to the officer) to confuse you so your answers become different from your spouses'.
Oh, by the way, even though you bring your attoney with you to the 2nd interview, he/she cannot correct YOU. He/she can be there just in case OFFICERS question you in lawfully unclear or incorrect manner.
I have seen the posting of a couple stating they were upset when the officer asked them about their sex life. YOU HAVE TO ANSWER THEM and your answer has to match exacly as your spouse's. When did you have intercorse with your spouse, do you use condomes, so and so force (well, it should match, right? but if you are not prepared enough and haven't been really paying attention when exactly was, for example, you cannot say, well I don't exacly remember but perhaps three days ago? when it was really four days ago, when your spouse answers four days ago, that's strike one. The officer may lie saying your spouse said five days ago to test you). If you get mad and say I cannot answer such personal question, you are out.
Our attoney didn't tell us anything about answers having to match before the interview, just told us to answer honestly. Look what happened. Only AFTER you get unfavorable decision that he/she can become helpful and suggest next best step from there...
Well, just, be prepared. Pracitice Q&A WELL. It may be just that we were out of luck... Well, we still have to consider ourselves lucky because we had choices. A choice which can be made is really depend on each case...
I wish you good luck on your interview.

      Thanks much!

Hope the second interview will come soon!
Since the first interview went well, I did not expect for a second interview.
Just remember that the officier mentioned about a background check in the first interview. Well, now I am a little nervous about the second one, and just cross my fingers and be prepared.
      Thank you again!
