i-485 Letter says "adiitional review"

My I-485 petition is pending and is beyond the processing time that's listed on the USCIS site. I called USCIS and the next day recvd letter saying it is under "Additional review". Contact after 6months. I recv 2 days prior to getting this letter my 2nd time Fingerprint appointment.

I am confused. What does "Additional Review" mean?

My fingerprint appt notice date is 06/16/2009.
USCIS letter for "additional review" is dated 06/18/2009..This is the same date when I called USCIS for status check (did not know about FP at that time). Please help me understand this if anyone has any similar information.

FBI background check

The first fingerprint is only valid for 15 months. If it has been expired, FBI background check needs to be done again. That's why you have received 2nd fingerprint.

Thanks for the info. My husband did not get his though yet. Do I have to call USCIS for him to have an appointment?

Also, what does "additional review" mean? This letter came when I called to check status on my case.


I also have heard that there are no visas available for EB3 anymore until October 2009. Does that mean I will not get my GC until then?

How does Visa availability work? My priority date for GC petition is Dec 2003. Does visa availability go by this date?
