Hello everyone, I am on H1 and my dependants are on H4, my question is can my son apply for scholarship and gov. financial grants even if he doesn't have a green card yet? Any response is greatly appreciated.
Same situation, my son is a junior in college now, he is still listed as an international student, however if you have lived in the US for 2 years and your son attended a high school for at least 12 months, he should be approved as a house bill 1403 student, which would enable him to pay in-state tuition fees and be able to receive some assistance. btw we are living in Texas, so each states regulations might be different, but the college international students office is your best bet for assistance.
Thanks for the response. We live in California and my son is also junior now. Does he needs a Social Security Number for college and if he applies for grants? He is on H4 visa.
