  • Non English Birth Certificate

    Hi,

My wife's birth certificate is not in English. I asked my lawyer do we need translation, he just replied in email "Yes". Thats it.
Anybody aware how to implement this "Yes".

    Thanks

You need to get the translation done by an approved translator . If you contact your country's (where you born) high commision, they will be able to do it for you. Otherwise you have to contact your birth place registrar office and ask them to translate for you in an official form with the stamp and header ,etc.

You can get the transulation done in INDIA?

Or you can get a birth cerificate affidavit by biological mother of that person in INDIA and notarize the same, which is also approved. If you need more details let me know.

        Certificate translaion

        Hi,

One option that worked that I know of :

        a) Go to Indian consulate in US and get a B'certificate based on passport. This is officially not sufficient alone but will support case.Takes one day.
        b) Do the transalation of certificate accurately by yourself. ( and signed by wife )
        c) Add an affidavit by wife stating that the translation is correct and .... and get it notorised.
        d) submit this affidavit with (a) , (b) and copy of hindi DOB certificate .
        e) Get copy of affidavits from her parents in India. and submit as well.

You may consult ur lawyer abt all this and be confident. There shouldn't be any problem. But better consult.

          Thanks MUTTHURAM, RASVA09, GODLOVE.

First I will try to get it from birth place registrar by exercising my right of Paisa fenko tamasha dekho.. If that don't work then we will try to get it translated from New York office of High Commission. On top of that we will also get signed affidavit of her parents.

(I sent my lawyer an email about this matter, then my employer also sent him email about same matter and guess what he pissed off. Can’t do much, we have make full payment for my GC process.)

          Thanks guys for information.
