  • I need some help please

    Hello,

I learned a lot on this forum. Thanks for all that.
Here is my situation. I'm a french citizen and i came on a visa waiver last year. I overstay my visa to stay with my boyfriend, i live with one of my friend until today. My boyfriend proposed to me and we gonna get married next month.
So We gonna have everything in commun ( lease, car .... ) . I mean everything required to apply for the GC. Thanks again for all the informations here.
My question is : I heard but i'm not sure about some fees cause i overstay (about 1000 dollars to pay) but i cannot find that in the forum.
    Somebody can confirm that ?
And if yes, when i have to pay that money ? in the same time that I put my I130 and I485 or maybe i can have a break to pay that fee??
    Thanks to give me advices

      hello there!

Because you are married to an US Citizen and came to United States Legally: You need to submit forms I-130, I-455 ( I-693, I-864), I-765, all together. you download the forms, follow the instructions.. take time to read them so you don't make any mistakes. And if you have any questions you can call USCIS and they will help you even with filling up the paperwork!

      Good Luck!!

          thank you for your answer.
yes i already checked the website USCIS and found all the forms that i need.
I saw that there are all the instructions to full the forms , it no seems to much complicated.
Do you think i need to take a lawyer on my case ?
cause to full the apllications, maybe he can be helpful to review everything before send it , i dont know.
And for the interview, i dont understand in what the lawyer gonna be helpful to be present. I mean, he wont answer to the questions lol
What do you think? is really necessary to put all that money in a lawyer?

Like you said.. the forms are pretty easy to fill, if you have any questions about filling the forms simply call them (USCIS) they will answer your questions.
If you still think that is better for you to get a lawyer go ahead... but if you aren't hiding anything and did not commit any crimes.. you don't need to spend money on a lawyer.
You can fill all the forms and if you want, go to a paralegal to check that everything you are sending is correct.
They will charge you a lot of money to fill it all (from $500 to $1500)is not worth it, unless you are under removal proccedings or something like that!

            Good Luck!
