  • AOS Interview - My Experience

    Hi All,
This is a little contribution from my side to this amazing forum!

We had filled for AOS thru my wife. She got her citizenship in Apr, 2009 and we filled my application by end of May, 2009.

    Following are important dates:

    1. 5th June, 2009- Application received.
    2. 10th June, 2009 - Notice for I-130, 131, 485 and 765 received.
    3. 3rd July, 2009 - Appeared for Fingerprint
    4. 7th Aug, 2009 - Got my EAD and AP
    5. 3rd Sep, 2009 - Appeared for interview. The interviewer was sweet guy. He just cracked couple of jokes and asked me that I am not involved in any illegal activities in the US. Then he just stamped approved on my application and wished congrats. Not a single question was asked.

One request to all you guys... be calm and relaxed. They can judge you from your body language.. relax.... and Wish you all the best!!!

Congrats on your approval! I have also applied GC through my wife who is a US citizen. We just got the receipt for I-130 and I-485.
The next step is doing our biometrics for I-130 and I-485. Now am I supposed to get another letter saying where I have to go for this? How long does this take?
Thanks and look forward to your reply.
Note that this is not a legal advice. Consult your immigration attorney for the best upto-date information.

It will take around 20 - 25 days to get the appointment letter for your biometrics. ONLY you should be going there.. your wife is not need. Carry the appointment letter, all notices, passport and another form of picture ID (driver's license, state id etc)... sometime they ask for another form picture id.
