How Do I Delay Finger Printing.....

Hello All,

My i485 was received on August 8th and I got my receipt from them in September.

I am almost 6 months or 180 days into the I-485 process.

I am getting married at the end of April. I have not got my finger printing notice yet.

I have been told that once I get my finger printing done, my Green card may come at any time.

I would like to add my wife's name to the I-485 application before I get my green card.

The only way to delay my green card would be to delay my finger printing.

How could I delay the finger printing?

I was told that once i get the finger printing notice I could opt not to go on that particular date. I was also told that I had six months to get the finger printing done after getting the finger printing notice.

Is this true? Could i just not go to get the finger printing done and then go back anytime in 6 months?

Or would I have to reschdule?

What is the process to reschedule?

Would I have to inform INS and send them a note informing them a date that I would be available to get my fingerprinting done?
