COS from L1/L2 to B2

is it possible to change of status from L1 /L2 to B2 ?I /wife need to stay for another 2 months after L1 expiry for medical reason.
What is the process?

Possible if done before the L1 status expires and while the person is still getting paid. Form I539. Do your research.
