Hi everyone!
I asked this question once already, but I didn't like the way it was worded. So I'm hoping this new wording can help me.
I am a Canadian citizen and I came to the U.S. 3 years ago. After being here 6 months, I married my husband. Please, keep in mind, I didn't come here with the intention of getting married. I was just visiting him during some time off from work.
I came on a Greyhound bus and showed 2 pieces of I.D.. I did not have a passport (this was when they didn't require it) and did not recieve an I-94.
Now, I am wanting to file for adjustment of status. As it stands, it seems like I have no way to prove that I entered legally.
Since I am a Canadian citizen (and Canada/U.S. borders seem to be more indulgent), will this cause me be be denied a GC or are they use to this kind of situation and will not take it into account?
