      Interviews Waived

In the FAQ the first line states:
For most people applying for adjustment of status, the interview is
waived, but in some cases, they are called for an interview.
Does anyone have any good information that illustrates a practical percentage of cases in which the interview is waived?

Along those lines, what are the typical mitigating factors that cause the agency to waive the interview, assuming a spousal I-130 + I-485 concurrently?

Thanks for any input y'all have to give.

      Wes

It all depends on various factors. Length of marriage, children from marriage, days in US, if the person is illegal and raises question of marriage being legitimate etc etc.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

So is there any estimated percentage of cases where the interview is waived? I'm not too concerned about it, but more just asking out of sheer interest. I don't mind us doing the interview and all, just wondering what our chances are at hitting the simple road jackpot :-)

Understanding that this is more conjecture and simply "shooting the breeze", I wonder if a "our story" letter would help answer questions such that there aren't any left for the interview?

I guess I'm speaking about situations similar to our case where we've been married for 12 years and have 3 children together (1 deceased). Pretty cut and dry situation.

Any thoughts? This is a bit more chit chat that help request, but I found that topics like this helped us on the road to self-filing the AOS + I-130 packet.

            Waived Interview

The brass tacks of what I'm really getting at is, is there anyone of you reading these forums that had your interview waived? Just interested to see if there is anyone out there that has seen this sort of action.

If you have, what were you filing for?
