Wrong Date on Entered on I-485 by USCIS

Hi,

I called the USCIS last week, to find out what's going on with my case.

They Asked me the some security question, Birth date was one of them.

To my surprise they entered the wrong birth date on my file.

And now they would not give me any informations regarding my case over the phone, becuase my birth date did not match.

They told me to go the Local Office to find more information on my case.

How can I correct it ?

Can I send them letter ?

Will I need to file any proof of document for birth date ?
