Laid off before 180 days of I-485 stage

I wanted to know if I can look for a new job if I have been laid off before 180 days into I-485 stage. I have an EAD, can I use that to look for a job. If my previous company does not notify the INS, then is it ok?

Yes , you can .

The 180 day rule says , 180 days are for INS ( If INS failed to approve your case within 180 days , then U can swith , but doesnt say U need to wait for 180 days, just to prove nothing is really done by INS , and then make a jump .
