i have a tourist visa and presently here in us. when i arrived, my admissibility was reviewed because of my parents who are immigrants here. my intention was merely for visiting family. i informed the officer that i do not intend to adjust status. during my stay, i received approval of my petition. can i still apply for adjustment of status?

You can apply for AOS if your PD is current, that is the rule.
BUT, wow, how will you convince the IO in an interview that there was no intent? You were even flagged upon entry, per your post. Good luckDisclaimer:Please bear in mind, my comments are not to be construed as legal advice. These are just my reasonings, based on my personal immigration experience or what I have read. An approved I 130 does not mean your priority date is current. I strongly suggest you discuss your case with an attorney.Disclaimer:Please bear in mind, my comments are not to be construed as legal advice.
