  • Help ! Biometric (FP) and No Passport

    Hi,

I received a Request of Evidence (due Jan 26, 2010) for my son (fingerprints to be taken at age 14). The problem is: his passport has been mailed out for renewal and according to the embassy, the renewal process will take about 3 to 4 months. It's been 3 months now and I haven't receive the passport yet. If I submit the evidence now (with $80.00 check), USCIS will send a notification as to the date and time and location where the fingerprints will be taken. What happen if I receive the notification and my son's passport is still not arrived ? I don't want to reschedule the finger printing process.

Is there any other documents my son can use to proof that he is who he is (besides the passport) when he goes for finger printing ? I have a
    photocopy of my son's passport.

    Thanks.

You do not need a passport for a BIO all u need is a valid government ID but since he's under 18 and do not have a driver's license u can take the copy of the passport u have, I would have that copy notarized.
No legal adv. use at your own risk.

Some states also have ID's for underage persons, but if you don't have a passport it will be difficult to get one. So for next time get an alternate ID.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thanks Kabkaba. I will definitely do that once I get the passport. Right now I am just trying to figure out if I can bring a photocopy of my son's passport and maybe his birth certificate (with translation) and my ID (driving licence) as a proof.
