Forgot orginal birth certificate at interview

Me and my wife went to the marriage interview and things went well except for the fact that we did not have my official birth certificate.

The interviewer said that she would mail us a request for the birth certificate. The interview was over probably 5 weeks ago and we have not received anything in the mail yet. Does anybody know how long this form for requested information usually takes? Everything else in the process was going so smoothly and now it seems were at a hault.

Any help would be great.
