will I-551 stamp work on overstayed person?

I am out of status but my green card interview is coming very soon so I am wondering will I be able to come back with I-551 stamp. can anyone help? thank you very much.

where is your interview and as far I have heard from some of my friends it does not matter much if you have been out of status.

Please provide details of your interview date and the receipt date
