We had our I-485 AOS interview today. It was a pretty straightforward interview. Lasted about 25 minutes for myself, wife and son. Just confirmed the details in the application, the Yes/No questions. No questions on job responsibilities or anything else. Didn't ask for any original documents other than passport and state ID/Drivers licence. He asked for an employment verification letter, which I was not carrying. He settled for 3 months pay stubs. The officer was friendly but seemed amused as to why he is having to do this interview. I had my lawyer just in case, since I had to change answer for one question on breaking the law. I had to pay a fine for agriculture violation. Eventually, itt was not a big deal. I know my lawyer for a while and his view was that a lawyer is not necessary. It's just that they treat you slightly better if you have one. At the end, the officer said he doesn't see any issue but the visa is not current. He gave me a letter that says Your interview is complete. However, your PD is not current. Your case will be transferred to NBC and they will make a final decision once PD becomes current. This interview is a real waste. It consumes a lot of time of the officers. They don't have time to even review the case before you are interviewed. And they have so many documents to go through. I looked at my file and the amount of paper is staggering
