  • Journey is finally Over! for now..

just want to say thanks to all who provided information during this stressful process! Stay hopeful and positive everyone! My wife finally received her card today! Two year greencard so we will apply to have her conditions removed later on.

I do have one more question,

My wife received her Employment Authorization card before her interview, so she has two cards now, her ID and her Employment Authorization along with her social security card that shows an authorization note on it..do we have to return or go to the local uscis office to invalidate her employment authorization card AND get a new social security card?

    Thanks

    11/19/2018 - Bio Appointment Received
    11/26/2018 - Bio Appt (Missed)

    Hi

    The journey is just beginning
She now has a conditional card which must remove its conditions 90 days before the 2 years card expires by filing form I-751 ( NOT 3 months but 90 DAYS )
A green card is not an ID and is used to depart and enter to U.S but it can also be used as an ID if there is NO ID to show especially during domestic u,s travels , but it may not be accepted as an ID in certain places like a store .because its purpose is more like "A PASSPORT ID" to be used in and out of the U.S .just like the U.S Passport cards we have to use land crossing or for near by countries like Canada or Mexico ,Bermuda etc . but for overseas travel one must have the actual passport and passport card can not be used for such travel.

Her ID remains the same because its an ID . EAD card is hers but its not valid and useless so she can either keep it as a memory or just cut into pieces and dispose it not to get confused with other things.

BUT unlike an EAD card she must have her LPR ( green card ) to return to USCIS when she becomes a U.S citizen if not USCIS will not approve the citizenship
also males between the age of 18 to 26 who did not register to SSS U.S selective service system will not be approved of their citizenships.
    there is NO MERCY .
    .
As for the SS card you need to stop by nearest SS office and update the current SS card with the stamp saying " VALID TO WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORZATION " in order to receive the regular one.

    Good luck
