  • When to have I-693 signed by doctor after receiving courtesy letter?

    Hi everyone,
I just received I-693 courtesy and I'm wondering if I should go have it done as soon as possible or wait until my interview is scheduled?
    Thank you,

My lawyer told me to not get my I-693 / medical examination right away. That's based on the current wait times for an interview at your local office. My local office (Minneapolis) has a wait time of over a year, so I'm going to wait for at least another 6 months before I get the examination.

You should call and know which civil surgeon still doing the physical and how much is the cost and wait time for appointment/results.

My local office just changed times from 9-22.5 months to 11-24.5 months, I haven't received the courtesy letter yet, but I'll wait a few months more or if I get an interview scheduled.

I received the letter late February and wont get my interview this year (New York filer/October). I will wait for our interview to be scheduled to go to the civil surgeon.

there are so many USCIS clinics around my area so I'll have to look into that too. My local office is 16 to 21 months now so maybe I'll wait until the interview is scheduled too.
Also, to my understanding, since my I-693 will be signed after I-485 was filed, it will be good for 2 years after being signed, is that correct?
