Hello AOS filers!
So by reading this and multiple other forums I got an impression that some get their interviews scheduled really fast, like within 3 to 4 month from i-485 filing date, while for others it can take a year or more to hear back regarding the interview being scheduled. It is not a surprise that this is heavily dependent on the filers location and load on adjacent field office. However, it seems that there might be another pattern that might be driving delays and overall timeline of the process, a link to which I would like to establish with your help.
From reading everyone's experiences it seems that whenever someones AOS application gets transferred to National Benefits Center (NBC), their timeline stretches significantly and I would like to test this assumption with your help, if you could answer a few simple questions:
1. For those of you who have already received your interview date withing 3 to 6 month of filing date, was your application at some point transferred to NBC and what was your original filing location, time before interview notice was received, and type of AOS (EB or marriage)?
2. For those of you that are still pending any note on interview (scheduled or ready to schedule) and have been waiting for more than 5 month, have your application been transferred to NBC? What is your type of AOS and filing location?
3. For those of you whose case was transferred to NBC and who received their interview notice, how long did it take to hear back regarding interview being scheduled after case was transferred? What is your overall timing until interview notice, filing location and type?
I have noticed from the signatures in many profiles that those who had their interviews scheduled within 3 or 4 month of filing date, none mentioned case being transferred anywhere. Also pretty much have not seen any profiles whose case was transferred to NBC and who got their interview notices in less then 6 to 8 months from filing date.
Thanks and best of luck to all of you!
