  • Will my middle name cause confusion on my I485 and I130 Applications?

I'm originally from Egypt, and my name consists of (First+middle+last name) that would be my name in schools, universities, leases, bills, etc.
In Egypt the middle name is always the fathers name and last name is the family's surname
Yet on Identification Cards and passports they write as we say in Egypt the name in 4 units/fields.
(First + middle (fathers name)+ 2nd middle (Grandfather's name) + Last). But whenever one use it or is asked for the middle name, you'd use only the middle name (father's name).
When I first came to the US I had student ID's with my (First+middle+last) form, I even had my social security in this form, a name of three fields and it was all fine.
I recently got married using the same 3 fields name and we're applying for adjustment of status i-485 and, from my research, it seems that they need my full/whole name as it appears on my passport which would be the 4 fields name. Will that cause any problems because it's not the exact same as it's on the marriage certificate? Even though that I already have a social security card with my 3 fields form of my name? I didn't think of it while getting married since I always use my 3 fields form of my name.

There is a section that say 'other names used' or something like that, you can fill that so they know you are the same person. Because you already have SSN, then is easier to match your name and they can understand that there are other customs/restrictions on your country (second middle name).

I don't think it will be a problem. Maybe just ask on the interview to get your GC with only 1 middle name to follow American culture.

I read one person form Mexico (first name + middle name + first last name, father + second last name, mother) to drop the second last name for the GC to follow the culture/customs in USA.
