  • Received I-693 Notice after PD has become available

    Hi guys,

I just received an I-693 Notice in the mail as my PD has become available this month. The notice says:

"A completed and signed I-693 was not submitted. You will be required to submit a valid, completed, and sign Form I-693 at a later date...."

I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or if they have started working on my I-485. Does anyone know if I would be receiving an interview notice soon as my case status still hasn't changed since the "Fingerprint Review Was Completed" back in August 2018. One more thing is how long does it take to complete everything for form I-693? Thank you very much.

There is no way to know when you will get an interview notice, it could be soon or it could take months. You applied in July 2018 and no EAD yet? Wow.

For I-693, it varies, so is better to call several authorized doctors. The list is not up to date, some will not answer and others may not offer the immigration physical anymore. In my area most have a 2-3 week wait for appointment and will give the results in 1-2 weeks.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

      Hi Enub4,
I received an RFIE for my I-485 and it took almost 2 months for me to gather enough documents to send it. That's why it has been delayed for so long, but I just received a status update saying "New Card Is Produced" for the I-765, but not I-131. I'm guessing it's being processed at the same time?

Would you recommend me to do the I-693 now since it's valid for 2 years? Thanks.

Oh, ok. My guess is that it will be a combo card, almost everyone get that. Sometimes they change the I-131 status on myaccount and not in casestatus (like in our case) to 'approved', so we did know they were combo cards, but sometimes they don't update.

For the I-693, I will say just start reading the form, check if you have all required vaccines and if not, get what is missing, call several authorized providers and ask for prices because they vary a lot. If you believe your final action date can't retrogress then you can do your physical if you have any doubts maybe is better to have all the information handy and wait for the status change to 'interview scheduled', it will be 5 weeks after that.

Perfect! I will go through the form and plan ahead then. Thank you. I'm currently on my last two months of OPT, and planning to file STEM OPT extension as I want to keep my F1 status for as long as I can and only use the combo card in case of an emergency. Do you think that's too much?

From what I understand, you can keep F1 with OPT and STEM OPT, but once you use the AP for travel abroad (for example), or the EAD (for work not authorized by the OPT) then you no longer in F1 status.
