  • I-485 family-based San Jose field office

    Hi - I was hoping some of the veterans on this board can help shed some light on our situation. We filed I-485s for my parents (I am a US citizen) in May 2017. The San Jose field office shows that it is processing family based cases from October 2017, so we are well past the normal processing time. Service requests have gone unanswered. In January 2019, we received a notice of interview and then a few days later, the interview was cancelled. The cancellation email seems to suggest that the case status was "Decision" but we have not heard anything since 70+ days now. The email is below. Would appreciate any insights on what you think is going on with their cases, and what I might be able to do to get some movement?

    During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.
