I485 status, What is the meaning of it...

Hi Guys..

My I485 is on SEP22, 2003. My First Finger Prints on Sep 28, 2004. After my fringer prints I am checking the status it show as below and haven't updated the Finger print information on status.. till this time. What is the meaning of the below message and I haven't received any RFE till this time..

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On November 8, 2004, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 365 and 540 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.


Could anybody explain me What is the meaning of this?

If you did not get an RFE, you should'nt be getting this message. This message usually appears when you respond to an RFE. Try calling the national customer service center and also write a letter (with return receipt )explaining your concerns immediately.

Thanks for your response. But unfortunately meself and my lawyer didn't received any of the RFE. But in the status with USCIS website it show that somebody responded to their request. I think they might have posted or updated the status wrongly. Is anybody experienced the same problem... kindly post if any... And If anybody can explain the same as how to tackle this type situation...
