We have been married over 2 years and had a marriage-based green card interview yesterday, April 11th, 2019. We have submitted following documents as proof of relationship:
1- Last two years joint tax returns
2- Last statement of common checking account
3- Our current lease with both of our names
4- 30 pictures including mostly international travels with family and friends, wedding pics.
5- Common health and dental insurance
The IO told us that because we're married longer than two years, I will get a 10 year green card and therefore he needs more proof. He asked for the very first statement of our checking account 2 years ago, which I didn't have with me. I honestly didn't know I needed that., as I brought only the most current one. So he gave us an RFE for more proof. We left the USCIS office went back home, printed out our first statement and found our previous lease with our names as well. We brought it back to USCIS the same day with the RFE notice. We weren't allowed to see the IO again so we left it at the front desk. They told us that they'll let us know the result.
I don't know if any of you ever had a situation like this but I wanted to put this information out there so people can learn about it, hopefully before their interview. I will update this post as soon as my status changes.
Good luck everybody!
