Hi

i have sent my forms in Nov 2018 and just received a status update for my i485 form which says it is ready for an interview. I am a Turkish citizen and applying for GC as marriage based case from Columbus OH. My question is when,should I be getting my travel permit? We are having our wedding (a celebration) back in turkey in september 15th 2019 but i bought my tickets for august... I was expecting my travel and work,permit before my interview to be honest. Is this normal that they do the interview before I receive my permits?

A status of 'ready for an interview' doesn't always mean that an interview is soon to be scheduled, for some it could be days after that change for others it could be months.

Most people reporting EAD/AP are all over the place, some in 3 months, some 6 months, some 8 months and still waiting.

And for your question that the interview/GC could arrive before the permits, yes, there are several cases from people that got GC and never received the permits, others received the permits 1-3 weeks before interview and got GC 1 week after interview.

My friend got her EAD 2 weeks ago and a week later she her status changed to " Interview is scheduled ". I just got my Combo Card saturday. Im hoping for the same results since we both in the same FO. On the same day on Feb, got an update " Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview "..

But then again, she filed hers Aug 2018 and mine Jan 2019

in my case, I had my I-485 in "Interview was scheduled" status before to get the Combo Card (I-765 + I-131) approved.
so, I would say, that happen.

I-485 and I-130 are managed by Local Field Offices, instead EAD and AP are managed by the National Service Center. it means that they are worked at different "speed" depending by the workload of the office

Hi thank you for the comments!!! Today which is next day after my post i received a status update for interview scheduled!!! Im soo excited!! They said they sent me on the mail the date so fingerscrossed its not too far out of a date for the interview!!! And I am,hoping to receieve my Ap and EAD in the meantime so I can go to my own wedding!! Lolol
