    To God be the glory!

Had my interview yesterday and just wanted to inform you guys on how it went. Got there 30 mins before the interview.and they called us in promptly to begin at 10am.
He informed us that he had not gone thru our file before and would be doing so while we conduct the interview. We then said the oath and began.

    He asked:
    How did we meet?
Where was she(my wife is the citizen btw) born?
    Whats each other's birthday?
Whats my parents in law names?
Where we both work and what we do?
What's the plan after I get the green card?
    Whats our wedding day?

We were in there for an HOUR because he took so long to go through our huge file. I became really bored in there. Plus the fact that me and my wife live in different states and he said he was just tryna make sense of everything while writing down his notes as we talked.
After he was done he looked at our supporting documents and kept some pictures and other documents establishing a relationship and told me I had been approved and whats the next step in renewing to get the 10 yr green card and filing for citizenship. We had a couple of jokes after and he wished us luck.
Interview went smooth. No need to be nervous in there if you are not doing anything wrong. These guys are just doing their jobs. Being nervous will actually make you talk too much or give wrong answers by mistake.

Let me know if you guys have any questions. I will gladly answer.

    • Hi all April filers. I had my biometrics appointment on May 31st, but unlike others, my status is not updated at all as of June 27th. It seems others are getting the notification "finger print review completed" within the few days of the appointment? I wonder what this could mean... thank you.

Hey Missy. I had the same concern as you; I was under the impression that everybody else was receiving updates (fingerprint review completed, e-mails about pending case, etc). But I talked to a lawyer and he told me it has a lot to do with each state/field office. California is getting the most updates, for example. That doesn't mean, however, that the case is moving faster. There's nothing to be worried about

        • Updated timeline in light of the RFIE that I received yesterday. For those interested it was asking for my birth certificate which I had provided to my lawyer along with affidavits from both my parents as there was some errors on my birth certificate (long form from Canada). Waiting to hear back from my lawyer but here's the updated timeline:

          04/19/2019 Application sent to Chicago
          04/23/2019 Application received by USCIS
05/04/2019 Received NOAs in the mail
          05/10/2019 Received biometrics appointment letter
          05/20/2019 Biometrics appointment
06/22/2019 Notification that RFIE has been mailed
06/27/2019 RFIE received (request for birth certificate which was previously provided in initial submission)

You are sooo lucky that they didn't deny it because of the missing i-130a! The officer was in a good mood.
I'm super glad for you! Send them what they need and you'll be fine

Yes! I was very lucky. I don't know how I missed that tbh. It is in the USCIS website and we verified twice with my wife but I guess we both missed it. I completed that one but I'm not sure about the i-864 yet. What do you all use to fill in the forms? I'm using the default mac os x pdf viewer and it doesn't compute automatically household size from the numbers I enter and in some fields it doesn't let me edit. I also don't know if I filled it right because my wife worked in January but now she no longer does, but I opened a different thread for this issue because I thought it might be useful for others (https://www.immihelp.com/forum/adjus...fe-wrong-i-864)

                        • I did my biometrics on May 22, the case status was updated to “all fingerprints had been taken and case is in progress” a day later, and nothing has changed since then. My question is: does the online status change when the case is forwarded to a field office or if an RFE is mailed? Thanks

It did for me. I first received the notification of the RFE on Saturday and I got the letter in the mail today.

I'll try using Adobe Acrobat then! Thanks!

                              • I think when they send it to field office it will say "case is ready to be scheduled for an intervew" and when interview is schedule it will say "interview was schedule". When RFE is sent it sayssomething like " request for initial evidence was mailed"
