  • AOS Interview Complete NYC

Had my interview yesterday in NYC Manhattan Office - PD was 09/26/17

Arrived early at about 1pm for 1.40pm appointment. We were called about an hour after time. The lady was quite matter of fact, didnt smile much. She asked us to take the oath, then asked me for my picture and fingerprints to be taken. She then asked for all my documents and evidence. She flicked through the evidence folder quickly, and gave it back to me aside from passports and drivers licenses.

She asked a few questions, our DOB, she asked my spouse why her drivers license was a PO Box address. Its a work address. I guess just trying to guage her reaction. She asked my spouse where she worked the nature of our work. When she asked me and we worked at the same place, she asked if that was how we met, and we told her our story in brief. I was asked the when we were marred and how long we were married. Then she asked me the last time I entered the US and the purpose of my travel.

That was about it. She was stamping my AOS forms and asking me YES/NO questions about crime, guns, people trafficking etc from the form.

That was it, the interview lasted about 20 mins if that at all. Quite quick. She asked me to sign the form, and told me that I was being held for a final background check, and then I would get my greencard in 4-6 weeks.

Although I do not have the official approved status, I am happy it went well. Fingers crossed it will be approved soon

Best of luck to you all

I also had my interview yesterday in NYC Manhattan office. Our appointment was for 8.15am but our lawyer was running late and we got our interview at 9.50. Lasted about 25/30 mins. The interviewer was very nice and polite. Like yourself she asked me to sign and said that my file was being held for final background check and that i would be approved today if she didn't find anything. At 5.45pm we got an update saying a new card is being produced! Best news ever. You will be fine, you will get an update soon!

        Hi
if its not approved on the spot you cant expect an approval and even they may deny because background checks are not safe and it can take long time.
I hope you will get an approval

        Good luck

Hey outsidebones - congratulations on the interview! I had my interview last week as well (on Thursday). I also had a similar positive experience and was told I should have my GC within a few weeks. I'll be interested in getting an update from you once you are approved. I'll share any updates on my end as well.
