  • Received 10 year Green Card- mistake?

    Hi,

My husband and I had our green card interview a week ago, which went well. An hour later we got an online update that his application was approved! Today we received his green card in the mail. I was surprised to see that it's an IR1 green card that expires in April 2029. We've been married only a year and 2 months. I was expecting a 2 year conditional green card. Is this a mistake? If it is, should I report it?

No experience here, just reading other posts. If I were you, I will call USCIS and try to get an appointment with an officer, explain the case and if they tell you it is ok, then it will be ok (at least they will have a record on your case). I read that in the past, some people get in trouble when trying citizenship or renewal because they received the wrong card and didn't do the ROC, but others were fine without issues.
