  • When should I get my I-693 done now if I'm waiting for an interview?

    Hi guys,

I'm current waiting for my interview to be scheduled, and I believe it's going to take months, and possibly it's not going to happen until next year. Should I get form I-693 done now as it's valid for 2 years?

I'm asking because I saw USCIS says that form I-693 must be submitted within 60 days after the civil surgeon signed it. Since I'm not required to submit it until the interview, I'm not sure whether I should do it or not. Thanks.

I recommend you wait for the interview notice to do it. Generally your interview is scheduled 4-5 weeks after the notice is sent. Something you might want to do in the meantime is find the doctor where you'll be doing your exam and ask them how much in advance you need to call to get an appointment, and how long will it take to get your I-693 completed. This will also help guide your decision about when to do the exam. Good luck!
