    Hi,

What you could do is to have your mother in law write a letter stating that you and your husband indeed live with her and get that notarized. She will need to go to the notary public herself and swear in front of him/her.
I am not a lawyer , it's just an idea.
You can also get application forms for health insurance benefits from your husbands health insurance, he could also add you to his pension.
we submitted the applications for those, and they were accepted.
Another thing is to bring any letters from your home country that you received while in the US in your mother in-law's house addressed to you as a recipient.
If you have any receipts of items you purchased together that could help too...
I think when you go for the interview, just explain it to them and maybe a notarized statement from your mother in-law could help.
Once again I am not a lawyer, so use this with caution.

    I hope this was helpful

      hey schh,

good to hear you interview went well.. congratulations... like you said, sometimes, things are more scary when anticipated than it actually happening...

I just thought you could help with this, how long did you have to wait to know your EAD had been approved, counting from the day of the fingerprint to you getting the card...please let me know, I have fingerprinting in 2weeks, just want to prepare myself for the wait after the fingerpritning....

      thanks.

It was about two months for my wifes EAD card to arrive from the time we filed. We had to get fingerprinting done twice (I guess the first set was not good enough /sigh).
My Fiancee arrived here on a K-1 VISA.
        Conditional GreenCard has been received.

Thanks again for all your help! I got my green card in the mail last week, 1 week after the interview. Everything turned out ok in the end. From start to finish it took us 3 months exactly which was pretty quick!

Good luck to everyone, and thanks again for all your help!!!

                  Interview Nxtweek need Advice

                  Hello everyone,

We got married last dec 09, And we filed AOS feb.26 2010, We are preparing lots of papers for the interview. I got problem with my sss card cuz when i start to apply for ssn, we find out that my I 94 my last name was mispelled one letter, so i went to the CBP and they fixed it, so i went back again to sss office, and they said i will wait only for 14 days, I still waiting till over of the 14 days as they said. So I go back again to the office, and they find out that was delivered already but the number of apt was missing on my application form so im not sure if they missed it ... so to put in application i dont know...i didnt get my ssn card. and they said they need to issue again a new one. but they can't do cuz my I94 has already expired. and I dont recieve yet my work permit.....And they print out only my ssn to a paper. And we need joint account, which required State ID, but I can't get state ID CUZ they required my ssn card. even i got the number they refuse. we will try online bank account.. In Gods help I hope it will work. Any advice....Thank you.

I want to say thank you to the site, it was very useful, concise and all the different experience shed light on what to do and not to do.

My experience and fears and timeline:

my fears included the fact of my conviction in UK which had been spent. I was afraid it would affect me and all, but it did not.

                    Timline:
                    Notice date of I-797 - 24 Feb 2010
Biometrics appt: April 14, notice date -March 17
EAD Approved - May 6, card recieved; May 24
AOS interview May 27, notice date April 20th
Approved immediately after interview. Green cad to follow.

My experience was good, my interview was elderly, kind and laid back, commended me on my honesty, as I had initially (mistakenly) said No in the conviction questions on my form, but resent anothe form and note indicating the mistake. He mentioned though that, it would have been fine, if I had not done that, and said yes when I got to the interview.
Adviced that I should not vote until I become a US citizen.
It was good experience for me, and I am glad and thankful that its over.
                    Thank you to all.
AOS based on marriage to USC.

Hope this helps people, with how to feel with arrest and convictions.
If marriage is real then there is a level of confidence that whatever may, someone is there to support you, as one cannot grant that is if its not.

Honesty helps, no matter what... I hope this helps...

                    thanks.
