  • Question about the biometrics....

Hi there!! I received my I-797s on the 16th April and expected my biometrics appointment letter to follow soon after.... but it is now almost a month ago and I still haven't received anything. Is this normal? Should I just keep on waiting? It seems like most people get the biometrics letter very soon after they get their I-797....

Most cases receive the biometrics letter 1-2 weeks after the NOAs. I have seen a few cases that take up to 2 months from RD to get the biometrics letter. Is a bad thing that they don't update the system telling they sent the letter so there is no way to know if they already sent it or not.

I think if I were on your situation, I'll call them and ask if the system show the biometric letter (may need to talk with L2 officer). Usually the biometric appointment is 5 weeks after RD for those who receive the letter soon after NOAs.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

Thank you so much for your response! I think I will wait till it has gone a month and then I will call them.... I get these nightmare scenarios in my head where they have sent the letter but I never got it and I get noted as a no-show and next I am reading a letter telling me to leave within 30 days LOL
      Yes I know COMPLETELY unrealistic.....

Hi Robec, was the package sent to the correct location? Just to take that one off the list
And secondly, no worries. I've seen cases when the biometrics appointment letter was sent after 1 month and a few days. So you should get it soon.
Otherwise, you can always contact them and ask if anything was mailed to you.

I have gotten confirmation that they have received the package and I got I-797 confirmation so I'm assuming it was sent to the right location.... but thank you for your reply, it does calm my nerves knowing a month isn't completely unusual
